ETI Base Code

Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) is a landmark alliance of companies, trade unions and non-governmental organizations, cooperating in partnership to improve the lives of poor workers and those whose work safety is at risk. It focuses on workers engaged in the production and global cultivation of all kinds of consumer goods. ETI ensures that companies take responsibility for an ethical source of these goods. It identifies and promotes good practice in conditions of employment, in accordance with the standard ETI Base Code, which was negotiated and agreed by the founding trade union, NGOs and members of ETI.

Betasoap is also registered with Sedex and implemented all the information on social and ethical trade as well as the current Smetana 4-Pillar audit report. Sedex stores information on the ethical and responsible practices covered by the ILO Conventions, the ETI Base Code, SA8000, ISO14001 and particular, industry-specific codes of conduct. Sedex members may use this information in their systems in order to evaluate suppliers for these codes or regulations of labor standards in particular company codes.
